Data Portrait Collar

Differences in two human mitochondrial DNA codes were identified and plotted to produce the waves in this imagined collar. Red rays reflect the points at which the codes differed.

The genetic sample materials were separated by 10,000 years, one Neolithic and one from contemporary man.

This is a novel portrait where DNA data has been used to inform a new artistic cameo.
